Rendering the video
Another changed background image
This is another background image I altered on photoshop to alow the background of my video to change. I cut and cleared timed parts on adobe to make the visuals match the timing of the track.

Final Music video, 2minutes, 44seconds
I couldnt use moving images in my background as well as layering moving images so I worked around this push back. On photoshop I changed the hue and saturation of certain backgrounds and layered them ontop of the original background clearing cut parts out to make a few backgrounds constantly change colour.
This is the changed background image. I chose to change this image out of the rest because when the video is played, the image looks as if it is moving although it isn't.
Underneath is the first copy of the background before I manipulated it.

Comparing Music Video's
I added a glow to the centre one aswell as having it a different colour. All the other layers are inverted and I left the background plain making the layers stand out more.
Comparing Music Video's

I have used alot of horizontal flips in my work to produce examples like in Rihanna's video. I have adjusted colour and brightness with effects controls.
Comparing Music Video's
This part of the video uses the same sort of effect as the one on top but a different colour. It uses blue and green instead. I have used these 2 colours else where in my video. The foreground colours and background colours contrast each other.
This is my moving image. I layered on the image aswell as duplicating them. I changed the colours to the blue and pink used in Rihanna's video. I kept the background plain so the moving image on top would stand out more, I also added on a roll effect to make both layers move out of each other and then back towards each other.
Comparing Music Video's
Here is a printscreen from my music video. I have also dupliacted the layer 3 times and added them in different video's in adobe premiere which allows you to see all 3 layers. I have added a glow effect on the edges making all the layers stand out individually aswell as fitting together as a whole cut.
This printscreen is linked to the one above. It is an unusual perpsective as the image has been duplicated and manipulated in 4 different ways. I added on horizontal and vertical flips to create this part of my moving image. Each layer appears in time with the soundtrack.
Comparison of Rihanna music video and my own
This is a printscreen from Rihanna's music video to her song, 'rude boy'.
I liked this part of the moving image as the silohuette is eye-catching and looks good against the bright background.

I developed this idea and included it in my own work. I added an effect called gamma correction to the image and changed the control so it would look like a silohuette figure. I horizontally flipped the image making it symmetrical and similar to Rihanna's.
My Music Video; at 1 minute,22seconds into editing
So far in the 1minute of editing, I have used effects such as;
Chroma key on all the shots to get rid of the green screen background,
Croping the image to clear and unwanted footage,
Adjusting the image using brightness and contrast controls,
I have inverted images in different layers by adding the layer into a new video and distorting it and changing the position by motion effect,
I have changed the image control by tinting some of the visuals changing the colours. This effect also links in with the brightness and contrast as both change the colour of the visual.
I have changed the perspective in some shots using a drop shadow to show an unexpected perspective like in the Rihanna music video,
To clear up an unwanted area without cutting out the visuals in want to keep, I used a sixteen point garbage matte,
To stylize alot of the visuals in editing, I used an alpha glow to add a glow colour to the edge of the layer. I copy and pasted certain layers to make them symmetrical in the video as the moved and rolled across the screen.
To gain the symmetrical look, I copy and pasted the layer into a seperate video, added on the horizonal flip effect and changed the positioning so it looked symetrical. I added on a vertical hold in the video when the baseline beat comes in to show the mix of genre's which also adds to the post modern era.
The editing is very time consuming as everything has to look right in the different video layers. All the effects have to match and fit into the time of the baseline soundtrack and well as match the background. The visuals of Hannah singing also have to be in sync with the actual soundtrack.
Hannah’s Filming scheldule shots
Hands shots- Clicking fingers,
Hands on waist
Lips-
Lip shots, (licking lips, biting lip)
lips, nose, top of eyes shot
whispering bonafyde productions
@ 35-37seconds singing 'yeah yeah'
Feet shots;
Shoes, walking,
playing with heel
standing straight
Medium shots-hannah dancing, posing
Long shots-dancing
Close-ups-smiling, looking into camera
Side close-up-singing
Medium close-up-back view of Hannah
Shot up to top of legs
Legs to shoulders shot
These shots will be used in a specific order to match the visuals of the music video. They will cut in time to the beat and effects such as rotation and horizonatal flips will be included. The visuals will always be disotorted interms of colour and saturation, making it post-modern like in the Rihanna music video.

Music video ideas; Rihanna
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e82VE8UtW8A
This music video contains post modern elements. It is postmodern as it contains alot of special effects with the use of green screen. It focuses on unexpected perspectives such as mirroring, layering and distoritions. We like parts of this video when text overlaps the visuals and drawn images appear on the visuals. We would want to use a range of colours in our music video to making it abstract and surreal. I think this video collaborates all the other elements of our research together. The video is one of our main focuses. It uses alot of green screen and layering of images. In our music video, we want to include a constant theme throughout. This theme will be a leapord print and will feature in the backgrounds aswell as mise-en-scene. The editing will be fast paced and made up of quick cuts to match the time of the beat.
I analysed the video in terms of shots and as a whole the video contains;
65 different Background images,
107 Shots of her,
11 shots of males,
and 23 shots of them together.
Our music video will contain more shots of the female model which is Hannah. I have created many background images which will feature in the music video changing in time with the cuts.

Location idea's and inspiration
Delinquent ft Kcat-My Destiny
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KHtASLwuU0
This video was filmed against a blank wall aswell as cuts to a brick wall. There are parts of the video which include a metal fence and cuts back to dj's in the background on DJ decks. The video gives a raw effect and works well with the sound as niche is a raw/underground genre of music.

Research on Music Videos
Gnarls barkly-crazy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd2B6SjMh_w
In this video, I like the symmetry effect all the way throughout. I would like to include part symmertry in my video with the use of effects. I would make the layers symetrical on both sides if I did use this idea. We also like the images created from the black ink in the video. An idea would be to include images like the ones in the Gnarls Barkly video but related to our song.
Black eyed peas-boom boom pow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m48GqaOz90
In this video, the 'juttering' was an idea I would like to use. When the song get slightly remixed back, the visuals also get 'stuck' on the sound as if the CD was skipping. (e.g. 13-16seconds into the video). As a baseline song, our track has parts which skip and jutter and the idea in the Black Eyed Peas video would work well with our soundtrack.

Coursework Question and Idea's
Create a promotional package for the release of an music album which will include a music promo video together with a cover for its release onto a CD, and a magazine advertisment for the release of the album.
As a group, we have decided to break down the research into the 3 seperate parts which are the music video, magazine advertisment and a CD cover. I am researching the music video, Laura will be researching the magazine advert whereas my other colleuege will be researching CD covers.
Idea's;
From a few days into our project we have decided to work in the bassline/niche/funky house genre. I have researched on a few video's and like the use of layering. We like the upbeat and fast paced genre and think a video with special effects, layering and bright colours would suit the soundtrack.
Our target audience for this media is 18-24 as this soundtrack would be a clubbing song. It might contain explicit language which also relates back to the target audience.
We want the whole brief, including the music vid, magazaine ad and CD cover to have a post modern edge to it. We will create a post modern edge by the mix of genre's and special effects.

Research for the Music Video
We have researched a few videos, (links below) in which we like certain idea's.
Sidney Samson-Riverside;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pde2j70eiC8
- In this video, we like the layering of images such as paint splats and lettering
- we also liked the idea of creating words out of human bodies shown throughout
- one minute into the music video, we like the frame movement and continuity of video into each frame.
- the patterns and bright colours also stand out and we would want to include these in our music video.
Kanye West ft T-Pain-The Good Life;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEKEjpTzB0Q
Most of Kanye West video's re animation which is why he's a big inspiration in our media coursework. We are including aspects of post-modernism in our music video and most of West's videos are postmodern with the use of animation.
- In 'The Good Life' video, we like the animated lyrics in the video in sync with the song.
- Like in the 'Riverside' video, we like the use of layering and want to go futher with that in our own work.
- The use of bright colours is also well used in this Kanye West video.
Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMiy_UsrPDs
- This music video also contains layering of images and lyrics appearing.
- once again, like in 'Riverside' we like the use of paint splashes starting at 28seconds into the video
- finally we liked the idea of the moving background.
Most of these techniques are done using a green screen and animation software. Some of the layering can be done using photoshop and premiere elements which can be done in our college. These are our starting ideas and we will research more into video's from the bassline genre as we want an upbeat and fast paced song for our media coursework task.

Digital Technologies Skills Audit
- create text boxes,
- change size of boxes,
- insert text,
- change font and style,
- layer objects and change order of objects,
- rotate objects
I can also use photoshop elements confidentally. Within this software I can,
- add/delete backgrounds,
- change opacity,
- layer images,
- add effects,
- blend images,
- download and add in different brushes
When it comes to use digital technologies such as camcorders and digital cameras I have relavant experience in using them. I can load a tape in a camcorder and set it up on a tripod. I can sue different settings aswell as zooming in and out of a shot. Within the video editing. I can capture cut and move footage.i can change time speed, add effects, remove sound and add on non diegetic sound to the visuals. I can do all these skills using a software called adobe premiere elements.
